The Indian Premier League’s Top 10 Sri Lankan cricketers

The Indian Premier League (IPL), also called the Indian Twenty20 Cricket Championship, takes place every year in India between March and May. It has its time slot in the ICC Future Tours Programme. The Indian Twenty20 Cricket Championship is another name for this event. Cricket players from all over the world play in the Indian Premier League. It brings in people from all over the world, both to take part and to watch. During the Indian Premier League, which is often referred to as the IPL, the majority of people all over the globe tune in to watch cricket matches. It was the sixth most viewed sports league on average in 2014, which placed it in sixth position overall among sports leagues.   • Lasith Malinga –

2008 was the first year that Lasith Malinga participated in the Indian Premier League. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented players to have come from Sri Lanka in the history of the league. The right-handed bowler has been with the Mumbai Indians during his whole career in the Indian Premier League and has been awarded the Purple Cap on two separate occasions. Even though he has only participated in 122 games throughout his career, Malinga has finished it with 170 wickets taken.

  • Kumar Sangakkara –

In the first year of the Indian Premier League, the Rajasthan Royals were led by Kumar Sangakkara, who is currently the team’s head coach. Sangakkara was a standout player for the Royals in that inaugural season. Before signing with the Deccan Chargers in 2011, he spent the previous three years as a member of the Kings XI Punjab team. 2013 was the year that he led the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad as captain. Sangakkara has participated in 71 matches in the Indian Premier League and has amassed a total of 1678 runs; this gives him a respectable batting average of 25. His overall average is 25.95 points.

  • Muttiah Muralitharan-

Muttiah Muralitharan, a legendary off-spinner, made his first appearance in the Indian Premier League in the year 2008. Before moving on to play for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011, he spent the previous three seasons playing for the Chennai Super Kings. Following that, he was a player with RCB for a total of three years. In 2009, he has a total of 14 wickets throughout the course of 13 games. In 2010, he played in a total of 12 games and collected 15 wickets. He has participated in 66 games, and throughout those games, he has captured 63 wickets.

  • Mahela Jayawardene-

More than 80 matches have been participated in by Mahela Jayawardene. He is widely regarded as one of the most talented cricketers to have ever represented Sri Lanka in the Indian Premier League. During the course of the IPL, he has scored a total of 1802 runs, including 10 half-centuries and one hundred. It was with Kings XI Punjab that he made his debut in the professional game. In the latter years of his professional career, he was a member of Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Delhi Daredevils. Mahela is now serving as the head coach for the five-time defending champions of the Indian Premier League, the Mumbai Indians.

  •  Tillakaratne Dilshan –

Between the years 2008 and 2013, Tillakaratne Dilshan was an active participant in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He split his time between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Delhi Daredevils, each team for whom he played for a total of three seasons. Because of his excellent off-spin bowling and his strong fielding, many people consider him to be one of the most talented Sri Lankan players in the IPL. Dilshan finished with 1153 runs scored throughout the course of 52 games.

  • Angelo Mathews –

Angelo Mathews, a former captain of Sri Lanka, made his first appearance in the Indian Premier League in the year 2009. He has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Pune Warriors India, and the Delhi Daredevils throughout the course of the seven years that the Indian Premier League has been active. 724 runs were scored by him throughout the course of 49 games.

  • Chaminda Vaas –

Chaminda Vaas was a fast bowler for Sri Lanka. For three years, he played for the Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League (2008-2010, to be precise). He has played 13 times in the IPL, and he has taken 18 wickets.

  • Thisara Perera –

Thisara Perera is a multi-talented player who can bat and field as well as bowl. He has had experience with six different IPL teams during the course of his career. These teams include but are not limited to, the Chennai Super Kings, the Kochi Tuskers Kerala, the Mumbai Indians, the SunRisers Hyderabad, and the Kings XI Punjab. Rising Pune Supergiants During the 2013 season, he participated in a total of 16 games and got 19 wickets. He has appeared in a total of 26 games and has racked up 22 kills thus far.

  • Sanath Jayasuriya –

Sanath Jayasuriya is from Sri Lanka and is a player that can play many positions. (IPL). During the 2008 season, he was only active for 14 games but still managed to score 514 runs. By the time the season was through, he had participated in 31 games and had racked up 768 runs. The 158 batting average he had was impressive.

  • Nuwan Kulasekara –

Nuwan Kulasekara once represented Sri Lanka in an international cricket competition. He was a member of the Chennai Super Kings for a combined period of time of three years. In 2011, during his first season with CSK, he won the Indian Premier League. In the same year, he also won the IPL. One and only one game was played by the right-handed middle pacer during the 2011 season. During those three years, he participated in a total of six games and got five wickets. In addition, he had one run scored against him.
