Margarita: Ideas, Looks, Creative, Touch, Mix, Cocktail

Mexico had a very famous tequila drink with a sour taste whereas a different variation of it was also found in the Spanish culture, because it cannot be pure co-incidence that the margarita means ‘daisy’ in Spanish. The original recipe is claimed to be tequila added with orange liqueur, soda and lime juice.

Tracing the origin of a margarita

A story claims that in a house party at Mexico Texas socialite Margaret Sames also known as Margarita mixed the drink for the first time in 1948. But also there are theories that state that it is named after the actress Rita Hayworth whose real name was Margarita Casino during a stag show in Tijuana in the 1940’s. In the book Imbibe, a cocktail historian named David Wondrich agreed that margarita’s were invented during the 1940’s. he said that margarita was evolved from the Daisy, which was a popular mocktail at that time which was a mixture of alcohols, citrus juices and grenadine served with ice. Another very popular story claims that the cocktail came into existence around 1938, by a Mexican restaurant owner Carlos Herrera who mixed it for the gorgeous Ziegfeld showgirl called Marjorie King. It is always said that tequila was the only alcohol which the King would abide, so Herrera added some lime and salt to it.
