Bhatala NSFAS: Financial Support Scheme for South African Students 

NSFAS, short for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme, is a valuable financial assistance scheme by the South African government. This scheme tends to help learners of the country by providing funds to eligible candidates. It was first established in the early 1990s and has been aiding deserving learners ever since. About Bhatala NSFAS for the 2024 Season 

Bhatala login NSFAS is the official portal, where one needs to register for availing benefits from the NSFAS funding program. The funds provided can be of great value, helping learners continue pursuing tertiary studies. More or less, this funding scheme encourages candidates to enroll at the University of South Africa and the selected candidates are assured of financial support for the following criteria:

  • Personal care allowance

Bhatala NSFAS Requirements and Eligibility 

Students can only register for the Bhatala Login NSFAS scheme if they are: 

  • South African citizen
  • Enrolled or will enrol in either a South African public university or TVET college.
  • Family income is not more than R 350,000 per annum.
  • Preference is given to candidates from needy families or those with SASSA grants. 

Getting Started with Bhatala NSFAS

  • Visit the official website, i.e.,
  • Select “myNSFAS”, followed by “Register’’. 
  • Tick the box for verification, then input your ID number as per the South African Identity Document (ID). 
  • Enter your name, as it is given on the ID number. 
  • Provide a valid email address and confirm the same.
  • Provide your phone number. 
  • Create and confirm your password. 
  • Now, upload a copy of your ID and select register. 
  • Upon receiving the OTP via phone and SMS, enter the unique set of numbers before it expires. 
  • If the OTP provided is correct, your account will be created and you can now reach out to the APPLY tab and proceed with the online application form.

Bhatala Login NSFAS Closing Date

Applications for this year closes on 31st January 2024. Candidates are therefore urged to apply before the said deadline as no possible extensions will be made. Once you have successfully enrolled for the scheme, regularly check for its status by logging in to your dashboard at
